The short version. We do not sell anything and we do not sell anyone. The site works without knowing who you are. If you allow it, we count visits so we know which guides are worth writing next — nothing more. You can say no, change your mind later, and ask us to delete what little we hold.

Who is responsible

The controller of this website is Alberto Gulotta, a private individual based in Palermo, Italy. Write to aitoolsprimer@gmail.com for anything on this page: it reaches him directly, and a postal address is given on request. There is no Data Protection Officer — the site is small enough that the controller answers in person.

What we collect, and why

1 · Server logs

Every website receives a request before it can answer it. Our hosting provider records the usual technical data — IP address, date and time, page requested, browser and operating system — to deliver the pages and to defend the site from abuse. We do not use these logs to build a picture of you, and we never join them to anything else.

Legal basis: legitimate interest in keeping the site up and secure (art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

2 · Measurement, only if you say yes

With your consent we use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are read. It tells us that a page was opened, roughly from where, and whether the visit came from a search engine — not who you are. IP anonymisation is on. If you refuse, no analytics script is loaded at all: nothing is sent, nothing is stored.

Legal basis: your consent (art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time.

3 · Your cookie choice

When you answer the cookie banner we keep your answer in your own browser, in local storage, so we do not ask again at every page. It contains a date and a yes or no. It never leaves your device.

Legal basis: it is what makes your choice work (art. 6(1)(c) and 6(1)(f) GDPR).

4 · If you write to us

If you send an email — to ask something, to pitch a guide, to correct us — we read it and reply. We keep the exchange as long as it is useful to the conversation, and we do not add your address to any list.

Legal basis: your request (art. 6(1)(b) and 6(1)(f) GDPR).

5 · Fonts

The pages currently load their typefaces from Google Fonts. To deliver a font, Google receives your IP address. No cookie is set by this. We are moving the fonts onto our own server so that this request stops leaving the site at all.

We do not sell or share data with anyone else. There is no advertising on this site and no profiling of any kind.

How long we keep it

Technical logs: the retention set by our hosting provider, in the order of weeks. Analytics: 14 months, the shortest window that still allows a year-on-year comparison — after that the underlying data is deleted, and the clock does not restart when you come back. The cookies themselves expire after two years. Your cookie choice: six months, then we ask again. Emails: as long as the conversation is useful.

What you can ask us

You can ask to see what we hold, to correct it, to delete it, to limit its use, to receive it in a portable form, and to object to processing based on legitimate interest. If you gave consent, you can withdraw it — it is as easy as giving it: use . Withdrawing does not undo what was lawfully done before.

Write to aitoolsprimer@gmail.com. We answer within a month. If you think we got it wrong you can complain to the Italian supervisory authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, or to the authority where you live.

Children

This site is written for people who work with software. It is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.

Automated decisions

None. Nothing here decides anything about you automatically.

When this page changes

If we start doing something new with data, we change this page first, we change the date at the top, and — where the law requires consent — we ask you again before doing it.
