How much is Adobe Premiere Pro: plans, trial and the cost of leaving

By Alberto Gulotta · Updated · 15 min read

How much is Adobe Premiere Pro? Adobe now calls it Premiere and sells it only as a subscription. Its terms give $22.99 a month for the single app on an annual contract, and $69.99 for Creative Cloud Pro. Photutorial adds $34.99 month to month. Leave it after 14 days and Adobe's terms charge half the remaining balance.

The price in dollars, and where it comes from

Adobe’s plans page says Premiere is available only through a monthly or annual Creative Cloud subscription, and that you can subscribe to Premiere alone or choose a plan with several apps; its Premiere page says the same in other words, as a membership with a monthly or annual commitment. Photutorial, a review site that says it reviews independently and may earn a commission from its links, answers the question of buying it outright with a plain No, and adds that the annual prepaid option is a one-year term and not a perpetual licence. Both pages use the name Premiere: Adobe’s explains that Premiere Pro is now simply called Premiere to represent the family of apps across desktop and mobile, and that the desktop app still offers the same tools.

The copies of Adobe’s plan and product pages that we read showed euro prices with VAT included: 26.64 euro a month for Premiere on the annual plan paid monthly, which Adobe’s Premiere page qualifies as “first year only” and for new subscribers only. The dollar figures on an Adobe page are in its subscription terms for US subscribers, updated on 27 January 2026. There they appear as the standard monthly fee behind the cancellation examples: US$22.99 for the single-app plan and US$69.99 for Creative Cloud Pro, with a note that they apply to North America and that your own fee and cancellation charges might be different. Photutorial, whose page is dated 30 July 2026, lists the same two figures and says it checked them against Adobe’s US comparison.

The other US lines come from Photutorial alone: $263.88 a year for Premiere prepaid, $34.99 a month with no annual commitment, $779.99 a year prepaid and $104.99 a month month to month for Creative Cloud Pro. The Adobe pages we read do not show them, so they are Photutorial’s figures. Photutorial says prepaying saves $12 against twelve payments of $22.99, and our arithmetic agrees: twelve payments come to $275.88, which is $12 more than $263.88. It puts month to month at $12 a month above the annual price, and says the $34.99 option is the safer choice when a project may end after a month or two. That is Photutorial’s advice, not Adobe’s.

Adobe offers a seven-day free trial of the full version of Premiere for individuals, and says it converts to a paid membership after seven days unless you cancel first. Photutorial says Adobe asks for payment details when the trial starts, and that the 14-day refund window is not an extension of the trial: once the trial converts, the order is a paid one and the terms of the chosen plan apply. For teams both Adobe’s plans page and Photutorial give a 14-day trial.

What the single plan includes, and the free mobile app

Adobe’s plans page describes the Premiere plan as Premiere on desktop and mobile plus the Adobe Express Premium plan, and its FAQ says every option includes the latest Premiere features and updates, Frame.io for Creative Cloud, an Adobe Express Premium plan and 100GB of cloud storage. Its comparison table gives 25 generative credits a month for Premiere and 4,000 for Creative Cloud Pro. Photutorial says the single-app plan covers the full desktop editor and not a reduced version, and that it does not include After Effects, Photoshop or Audition.

Adobe says Premiere on mobile is a free, standalone social video editing app, available from the App Store and Google Play, and that the generative features powered by Adobe Firefly use credits, which come with a subscription or with an existing Creative Cloud plan. Photutorial says the iPhone app does not unlock the paid desktop app. Adobe adds that with a paid desktop membership you can start a project on mobile and pick it up again in the desktop app.

For editing video online for free, Adobe’s Premiere page points to Adobe Express. Adobe Stock is separate: Adobe says Stock and Firefly content may require additional costs, and Photutorial gives $29.99 a month for the 10-credit annual Stock plan.

Creative Cloud Pro, students and teams

Adobe says Creative Cloud Pro comes with 20+ additional creative apps such as Photoshop and After Effects. In the copies of Adobe’s pages that we read, the regular price was 79.96 euro a month including VAT, with 39.97 euro for the first three months for new subscribers. Photutorial gives the US version: $69.99 a month regular on the annual contract paid monthly, and $34.99 for the first three months for eligible new subscribers. It adds that nine payments of $69.99 follow, which makes $734.88 for the first year before tax; our arithmetic matches (three payments of $34.99 and nine of $69.99). Photutorial says the offer should not be read as a long-term $34.99 plan, and that the regular price is $47 a month more than the single app, which is $69.99 less $22.99.

Photutorial’s view is that the bundle is easier to justify when Premiere regularly hands work to After Effects, Audition or Photoshop, and that paying $69.99 for Premiere alone leaves most of it unused. That judgment is Photutorial’s, not Adobe’s.

For students and teachers, Adobe’s Premiere page offers Creative Cloud Pro, not the single app, at 19.83 euro a month including VAT for the first year and 40.99 euro after that. Photutorial says Adobe does not discount the Premiere-only plan for students, and gives the dollar version of the Pro offer: $19.99 a month for the first year and $39.99 after that. It says eligibility can be shown with a school email address or another proof such as a school ID, a transcript, a report card or a tuition statement, and that because the renewal is nearly twice as high, a second-year decision should use $39.99.

For teams, Adobe lists 33.49 euro for Premiere and 86.55 euro for Creative Cloud Pro per licence a month, both excluding VAT. Photutorial gives $37.99 and $99.99 per licence a month. Adobe’s plans page lists for the business plans 1TB of storage, an admin console to manage licences and billing, the ability to reclaim assets when people leave the organisation, and 24x7 dedicated technical support. Photutorial adds that these controls, rather than editing features alone, explain the premium over the individual plans.

What leaving costs

This is the line the pages treat most differently. Adobe’s subscription terms for US subscribers cover three kinds of plan. For the annual plan paid monthly, they say the yearly subscription comes with a significant discount, and that after 14 days a cancellation fee of 50 per cent of the remaining balance of the contract applies. Adobe’s example: if you cancel in the ninth month, you pay 50 per cent of the fee for the three months that remain. Photutorial adds that an initial order cancelled within 14 days is refunded in full, and that after a later cancellation service continues through the current monthly billing period.

The text we saved of Adobe’s page introduces examples of cancellation charges but does not carry their amounts, so the sums here are our own arithmetic, not Adobe’s, and they ignore tax. They use the two standard fees in Adobe’s examples. In Adobe’s ninth-month case, three months at $22.99 come to $68.97 and half is about $34.49; three months at $69.99 come to $209.97 and half is about $105. Cancelling after three payments leaves nine: nine at $22.99 come to $206.91 and half is about $103.46; nine at $69.99 come to $629.91 and half is about $315. Adobe’s page says your fee and cancellation charges might be different.

What this means for a job of known length is again our arithmetic, not Adobe’s, and it uses Photutorial’s $34.99 month-to-month figure, which Adobe’s pages we read do not show. It assumes you pay the first month and cancel after the 14 days, so the 50 per cent applies, and it ignores tax and the 14-day refund. Cancelling the $22.99 annual contract after 3 payments costs $68.97 plus about $103.46, or about $172.43, against $104.97 for three months at $34.99. After 5 payments it is about $195.42 against $174.95. After 6 payments it is about $206.91 against $209.94, so on these figures month to month is cheaper for up to five months and the annual contract from the sixth month. The prepaid year ($263.88) gives no refund after 14 days, so it only pays off if you use all twelve months.

For the annual prepaid plan, Adobe’s terms say a refund is not possible if you cancel before the year ends, because the yearly purchase comes with a significant discount. Photutorial says an initial cancellation within 14 days is refundable, and that afterwards the payment is not refundable and service continues through the contracted term. Adobe’s terms list month to month separately, and Photutorial says that after the first 14 days payments are not refundable and access continues through the current billing period.

When a subscription ends, Adobe says the account converts to a Creative Cloud free membership and you can no longer use most Creative Cloud applications or services, although starter plans for some apps remain available. Your files stay accessible on your computer, and cloud storage is limited to 5GB; if you are over that when you cancel, you have 30 days to move files out. Photutorial puts it in Premiere’s terms: the desktop app stops working, local project and media files remain, and cloud storage falls to 5GB.

Four cases. Figure drawn by AI Tools Primer from Adobe’s subscription terms and Photutorial, read on 30 October 2026.

Lower figures on two training sites

Two training providers show lower numbers than Adobe’s terms and Photutorial. Noble Desktop’s article, dated 17 April 2026 and updated on 19 April, gives $20.99 a month for the standalone program in its text, $31.49 for a single month, $54.99 for the whole of Creative Cloud and $239.88 for a prepaid year, and says its payment plans come with a free 30-day trial. The summary table at the top of the same article reads differently: about $23 a month for the single app, about $60 for Creative Cloud and a 7-day trial. Miracamp’s price page lists $20.99 a month with an annual commitment, $31.49 a month billed monthly, $54.99 for Creative Cloud All Apps, $19.99 for the education plan and teams from $35.99, and its FAQ gives a 7-day trial. Both pages also promote their own courses.

The pages do not say why their figures differ from the others, and from them we cannot tell which of Noble Desktop’s two sets is right. Both call the bundle All Apps, while the Adobe pages we read call it Creative Cloud Pro. The Adobe terms we read were updated on 27 January 2026 and give $22.99, and Photutorial checked its figures on 30 July 2026. We list the lower figures as those pages’ numbers and have not used them as prices on this page.

Currency and tax add a second layer. Photutorial says Adobe localises Premiere prices by country and tax display, and tells readers to use the regional checkout for the amount and tax treatment that apply to them; it marks its own UK and EU price labels as historical. On Adobe’s pages the euro prices for individuals include VAT and the team prices exclude it.

The pages we read do not compare Premiere’s price with CapCut or DaVinci Resolve. Our pages on whether DaVinci Resolve is free and whether CapCut is free set out what those products’ own pages say.

What we did not use

We bought no plan and opened no checkout. We did not read the TrustRadius, checkthat.ai or Morphic pages, the Reddit thread or the Adobe Community thread. Adobe’s plan and product pages reached us in euro, so the only dollar figures from Adobe are the two in its subscription terms. Photutorial’s account of checking Adobe’s US comparison is its own statement, and we did not see that comparison. Adobe Stock, Firefly credit packs, taxes and prices in other currencies are not covered here.
